We are looking for part-time and casual Support Workers to help the people we support in Kapiti Residential Services.
What does a Support Worker do? - He aha te mahi a te Kaimahi Tautoko?
This is a busy and diverse role, supporting people with various aspects of daily life and helping them do the things they want to do, such as swimming, personal care, meal support, household management tasks, and learning life skills. The list is endless!
Support Workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 support, with the potential for additional sleepover payments in some rosters.

* People who are passionate about helping others, and are kind and understanding
* Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience with disabilities and challenging behaviours
* Full driver's licence is essential
* Someone who has the initiative to encourage people to achieve their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box.
* You need to be respectful of others' thinking and ways of living that may be different from your own
* Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends
Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are important in this role, as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
