Maintenance Fitter

ANZCO Foods Manawatu has a full-time permanent Maintenance Fitter position available at our processing site on Ferry Road, Manawatu, this will be a twilight shift position and the hours of work will be between 12pm - and 9.30pm 5 days a week. You will need to have flexibility to work outside these hours during maintenance shutdowns and times where the plant is working weekends or overtime. We are a fast-paced environment meaning this position will be varied and busy requiring the successful Candidate to demonstrate organisational abilities and enthusiasm for a processing environment. The hourly rate for this position will be between $39.50 - $40.50 per hour. Whether it's welding, stripping down and rebuilding parts or fitting/assembling components on our processing lines, there will be a good variety of work Ultimately, you'll play a vital role in keeping our production process running and in line with the required standards and regulations. It's the ideal mix of installation, inspection, repair and preventative maintenance - keeping things running and in great condition, so when little issues crop up, they don't turn into massive problems (and unscheduled outages). Skills and experience we require are as follows: A mechanical or maintenance/diagnostics trade qualification or be in the process of gaining a qualification * The ability to think logically and remain calm under pressure * A working knowledge of manufacturing operations * Maintenance diagnostic or fault-finding experience and repair of industrial equipment * Knowledge and experience of reliability-based maintenance * Basic computer skills * Knowledge of monitoring and auditing for compliance * A good understanding of the Health & Safety requirements for a processing environment We deliver taste, nutrition, and wellbeing to the world with products made from New Zealand finest beef and lamb. Alternatively, any production environment is essential. - A true generalist—adaptable, curious, and technically resourceful - Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously - We need someone who is a resident/citizen or has an open work visa. About the job: This role is a minimum of 40 hours per week, working 5 out of 7 days which may include weekends and/or public holidays. Assist in efficient and effective body repairs and maintenance of buses and other fleet vehicles to ensure that they meet presentation and safety standards Daily responsibilities include accident repairs, body overhauls, reconditioning, panel fabrication, fibre glass repair, interior work such as lino and trims Timely & accurate data entry for internally used software/applications.
