Korero mo te turanga - About the role Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting an Official Information and Privacy Adviser in a mid to senior capacity, to join the Legal Services team on a permanent, full-time basis. Key responsibilities: * Process OIA and Privacy requests for the University in a timely and professional manner * Assist with responding to regulatory investigations * Support system changes and process improvements * Actively participate in the organisation and maintain key relationships with staff and senior leaders * Provide advice and reporting on OIA and Privacy related matters to key senior leaders O pumanawa - About you You will: * be a self-motivated, client-focused individual who can take the initiative, provide excellent advice and manage a full workload within tight timeframes * have the opportunity to own this space and establish key relationships within the sector * be skilled in working with different personalities to source, collate, and distil large amounts of information * be a fantastic communicator, with an ability to influence and deliver your advice clearly with integrity. Key requirements: * Experience in processing complex OIA and Privacy Act requests * Demonstrable experience and knowledge of the Official Information Act 1982 and the Privacy Act 2020 * Excellent oral and written communication skills * An ability to take on and receive feedback, and drive with influence * An excellent work ethic and commitment to excellence * Attention to detail and outstanding relationship management skills * Proficient with using Adobe and Microsoft 365 platforms Experience or interest in the tertiary environment is desirable but not mandatory.
