As part of the Reactive Services, based in Wellington, the Outage Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing outage activities to ensure efficient and effective execution. The successful candidates will work on key responsibilities like: • Undertaking Hot Stick or Glove and Barrier work methods up to and including 66kV. • Identifying electrical systems in preparation for work. • Climbing and working on electricity network structures. • Using lines machinery plant and equipment in an electricity network environment. • Determining the condition of electricity supply lines. • Applying earths to and removing earths from overhead electricity supply line conductors. • Developing work plans for construction and servicing overhead electricity supply lines and equipment. • Joining electricity network overhead conductors. • Overhauling non-load bearing pole hardware and pole structures in electrical networks up to 33 kV. • Replacing load bearing pole hardware in electrical networks up to 33 kV. • Installing and replacing electricity network pole structures. • Installing electricity network overhead conductors. • Operating ground and structure mounted electrical equipment associated with electricity lines up to 33 kV. • Installing electricity network overhead conductors. • Removing electricity network overhead pole line installations up to 110 kV. Qualifications and Skills • A trade qualification as a distribution line mechanic is required with a minimum of 2 years post certification/registration experience in general line work, including current competence in the equivalent earthed line processes to be undertaken live. • Hands-on experience in distribution line work to industry standards. • A thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements. • A trade qualification as a distribution line mechanic is required. • Training and Certification in Live Line training ECP46. In this role, you will plan and implement all projects to ensure they are completed on time, to an appropriate quality standard and to achieve planned profit or better as per project bid targets.
