David O’Neill Contracting Ltd is a well-established Agricultural & Cartage Contracting business based in Omarama, North Otago and have been operating for 25 years. We offer services ranging from Silage, Balage, Carting, Fert Spreading, Harvesting, Drilling and more. We run a fleet of Massey Ferguson, Fendt tractors, Scania Trucks and a variety of agricultural implements. We are seeking seasonal (October– March) Tractor Operators to join our contracting business. The positions we are looking to fill will be part of the Silage and Balage crews, as well as Cultivation work. What to expect in this role: - Operating one of the following roles: o Triple Mowers o 4 Rotor Rake o Square and/or Round Baler o Tube Wrapper – Massey Telehandler o Stack Operator – JCB 434/435 o Direct Drills o Fodder Beet Drilling o General Cultivation o Loader Tractor Operator - Working unsupervised or within a team environment - Working Long hours and most weekends with weather depending - Bookkeeping e.g. bale numbers, stack cover, timesheet etc. What we are looking for in a candidate: - Class 1 is required but bonus if you have Class 2 or W as well - Off-road driving experience - Good communication skills - An honest and reliable person who can work well with others, as well as independently - Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle - Experience working with machinery, minimum 2 years favourable - Able to work a minimum of 30 hour weeks If you believe you have other skills and experience that may be of value towards this role then please don’t hesitate to apply or contact us even if you don’t meet all of the requirements.
