




Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter and Joiner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and finishing wooden and other structures and fixtures in residential, commercial, and industrial projects. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of construction plans and specifications. Key Responsibilities: • Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine specifications and requirements. • Construct and assemble formwork and boxing for concrete foundations, walls, and infrastructure projects. • Cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials using hand and power tools, including frames, trusses, partitions, and flooring systems. Operate woodworking machines. • Install and fit plasterboard, windows, doors, internal fittings, and structural components such as framing, trusses, and stairs. Construct and install stairs, balustrades, handrails etc. • Erect scaffolding and ladders as needed for assembly and installation. • Carry out repairs on damaged frameworks or other structures, fixtures and components within buildings and infrastructure. • Apply finishes such as paint, varnish and stain, attach hinges, locks and handles to wooden structures. • Perform preventative maintenance on structural elements to ensure safety, durability, and functionality. • Operate and maintain hand and power tools safely and efficiently. • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with design specifications, construction plans, and relevant safety standards. Requirements: * Must have minimum 2 years' experience in Carpentry and Joinery or a recognized trade qualification * Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction. * Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards. * Skilled and experience with all tools of the trade * Able to read blurprints Work Conditions: * Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. * Manual labour including lifting, climbing, bending, and use of tools is required. Benefits: * Hours: Minimum of 30 hours * Monday to Friday, may be occasional weekend work. * Pay rate: $28-32 an hour, weekly pay * PPE Provided * Kiwisaver contribution Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
