Promoting sustainable land management and community involvement. We are inviting expressions of interest for an upcoming opportunity as a Catchment Coordinator. This is a potential flexible, fixed term, or part-time role based in the Waimarino or Southern Ruapehu districts working from home. RRCC is a farmer-led collective and incorporated society focused on strengthening rural communities, freshwater quality, soil health, and native habitats and wildlife. Things that benefit both the environment and the long term sustainability and profitability of farms in the Rangitikei, Turakina, and Whangaehu river catchments (RRCC’s region). Our key objective is to support the long-term health and resilience of rural communities and freshwater ecosystems by integrating scientific monitoring, community involvement, and the promotion of sustainable land management. RRCC also aims to enhance the reputation of farming. We have over 450 (and growing) members, split into 23 sub-catchment groups that we support across RRCC’s region. While full details will be confirmed at a later stage, key responsibilities are expected to include: • Sub-catchment groups – Development, coordination, and support to understand their needs and goals. • Data collection, management and reporting – help with the collection and reporting of sub-catchment data and activities. • Communication and relationship management – Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
