About the role: We are seeking for casual reliable, professional, trusted Security Guards, who are also flexible to work weekends, afternoons and night shifts, to join our Invercargill team of dedicated security personnel. This is not just a static guarding position. As a crucial guardian of public safety, you will play a vital, hands-on role in ensuring the safety, security, smooth day-to-day operation of Southland’s premier retail destination also be the welcoming face of the Centre—actively engaging with customers, supporting tenants, maintaining the presentation of shared spaces, and helping to create a safe, clean, and vibrant environment for everyone. Key Responsibilities: • Maintain a safe and secure Centre through proactive patrols, prompt incident response, working closely with NZ Police and providing emergency warden and first aid support. • Support the Centre operations by maintaining cleaning equipment, ensuring all areas remain clean and well presented, coordinating with cleaners and contractors, managing public furniture and food court standards and assisting management with general operational tasks. • Provide exceptional customer and tenant support by acting as a friendly information hub, managing car park operations and helping maintain a safe, and welcoming environment. • Operate security technology – including mobile connected cameras, integrated CCTV, digital reporting tools and access control systems – to ensure precise monitoring, accurate reporting and secure access across the Centre. Mandatory Requirements: To progress through the recruitment process, you must consent to and be able to satisfy pre-employment checks, including: • Driver’s License, Credit Checks, Ministry of Justice Criminal History and Immigration checks. • Currently reside in the Invercargill region • Hold a current Certificate of Approval (COA) Our Ideal Candidate: • Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure • Articulate and a comprehensive understanding of the written and spoken English language. • Strong interpersonal and observational skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Reliable transport to get to and from work sites • Proven experience in security, policing and loss prevention (advantage not required) Are you interested in an exciting career as a Security Guard?
