Training provided for suitable candidates Location: Millers Flat, Central Otago, New Zealand Company: Hawkeswood Mining Limited Reports to: Dredging Operations Manager and Dredge Manager Overview: Hawkeswoods, a family-owned New Zealand company, with 20 years of experience in civil and mining operations throughout New Zealand,has launched the Millers Flat Alluvial Project. This project will employ up to 30 personnel in roles ranging from earth moving and dredge operations to administration, health, safety, and compliance. Based near Millers Flat township in Central Otago, Hawkeswood's values cultural and people diversity and is committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety. Key Responsibilities: * Operate floating dredge and utilise a vibrating screen to process materials in a mining setting. * Operate up to 125T Excavators for various tasks associated with dredging and material handling. * Monitor and adjust equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation. * Conduct daily inspections and routine maintenance of the dredge, vibrating screen and excavator to ensure optimal performance. * Follow safety protocols and adhere to industry best practices to maintain a safe working environment. * Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate operations. * Maintain a clean and tidy work environment, including equipment and work areas. * Assist with other tasks or operate additional machinery as required. * Participate in training programs, including first aid and health and safety, to enhance skills and knowledge * Ensure the security of the dredge and all associated equipment. Qualifications and Experience: * Proven experience as a Plant/Dredge Operator in a mining or similar environment is preferred but training will be provided for the right applicant that is willing to learn. * Strong understanding of dredging operations, plant machinery, and excavator operation is beneficial. * Ability to operate and maintain a floating dredge and vibrating screen. * High level of trustworthiness and integrity. * Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. * Punctual, reliable, and committed to maintaining high safety and work standards. * Available for alternate Saturday maintenance work. * Comfortable in confined spaces.
