The Coronet Peak Custodian Team Leader role offers the most flexibility to get your daily lap fix. Ride in the morning and then work in the afternoon. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Custodian Team Leader with incredible communication skills, remarkably organised who can multi-task and lead a team while being fanatical about ensuring our base building facilities are cleaned and maintained to the highest possible standards. There is some manual labour and heavy lifting involved, but if you can take it all in your stride and do so with a smile you may be the very person we are after! This is a seasonal position, reporting to the Administration & Events Head of Department. In this role, you will assist the Head of Department to deliver the company purpose and mission statements and the department objectives. About the role * You will be required to motivate, develop and lead a team within the Administration/Custodian department * Maintain the same high level of cleanliness of the building all throughout the season * Cleaning of the public toilets and ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies like soap, toilet paper and hand towels * Ensuring that all staff office areas are clean and presentable by emptying rubbish bins and vacuuming. * Heavy Machine operation of our glass crusher, compactor and our floor cleaner * Sorting our recycling streams to maintain our Kaitiakitanga * Help with conference set up and event delivery * General maintenance roles of stocking firewood, lighting fires on night ski nights and deploying signage and barriers to minimise slip/trip hazards * Keeping an eye on all public areas to ensure they are safe and well presented * Ability to set your workflow and interact with every department on the mountain * Assist other departments during busy periods About You * We are seeking self-motivated applicants with a proven commitment to working under pressure in an unsupervised environment and can provide 'service with friendliness' * Minimum one year leadership experience ensuring that safe, fun and outstanding service is delivered for both our staff and our guests * Minimum two years' experience as a cleaner * Ability to operate machinery such as industrial vacuum cleaners and floor polishers * Happy to assist in other departments and take on additional duties as required * Previous experience working within an alpine environment is an asset * An understanding that employment is subject to the vagaries of the weather and the hours of work cannot be guaranteed Further Information * Weekend and afternoon work is required (8:30am - 5pm) and (3:00pm-11am/4:00pm-12am on Night Ski Nights) * Ability to drive a manual is a must as the Custodian team is provided with their own company vehicle * Payrate: $27.00 - $29.00 * Location: Queenstown, The Remarkables and or Coronet Peak * Full time 30 hours per week, fixed term (June - October)
