The Opportunity:We're looking for an experienced Civil Engineering Technician to join our growing team. This hybrid role combines office-based civil design with hands-on geotechnical fieldwork, giving you a well-rounded professional experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the design of civil projects including earthworks, stormwater, wastewater, water supply, roads, and land development.
* Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports using 12D and AutoCAD.
* Conduct geotechnical site investigations and soil testing.
* Support senior engineers in developing practical and cost-effective solutions.
* Ensure compliance with NZ standards and local council requirements.
* Contribute to project planning, management, and client presentations.
* Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
* Maintain quality and safety standards across all project stages.

What You Bring:
* Proven experience (3-5 years) with 12D and AutoCAD for civil design and drafting.
* Strong understanding of NZ engineering regulations and standards.
* Experience in geotechnical fieldwork, site inspections, and reporting.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills and a team-focused mindset.
* Experience in Hawke's Bay or surrounding regions (preferred).
* Background in water, wastewater, or stormwater systems (an advantage).
* NZ citizenship or permanent residency is essential.
