Work independently on customer sites and as part of a small team 2. Engage in varied work, from servicing to fault-finding and component rebuilding 3. Receive ongoing training and genuine career development opportunities We are growing and need you Mobile Service Technicians – Forklifts About us Centra Forklifts (NZ) Ltd is the New Zealand distributor for Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks, with branches in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Palmerston North and Christchurch. We look after a wide range of petrol/LPG, diesel and battery‑electric forklifts, plus a large rental fleet, for customers across transport, logistics, warehousing and manufacturing. Operating from our modern, well‑equipped workshop in Mangere Bridge, our Auckland team also runs a fleet of fully stocked service vehicles covering the wider Auckland region. The role Due to growing demand in Auckland, we’re looking for Mobile Service Technicians to join our field team – ideal for experienced Forklift Technicians or qualified diesel mechanics who enjoy getting out on the road. You’ll work on a mix of small and large IC (petrol/LPG and diesel) and electric forklifts, splitting your time between customer sites and our Mangere workshop. No two days are the same: one day you’ll be on scheduled servicing, the next you’re fault‑finding, rebuilding components, or responding to breakdowns to get our customers back up and running. What you’ll be doing * Servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of light and heavy forklift trucks (IC and electric). * Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical faults using service manuals and diagnostic tools. * Dismantling and reassembling engines, transmissions, steering and other major components. * Repairing and replacing worn or defective parts, then testing and adjusting for correct performance. * Working on customer sites across Auckland as well as in our Mangere workshop, depending on the job. * Completing jobs on a tablet/laptop using our field service system, with accurate notes and parts used. * Taking part in ongoing online training and development through the Mitsubishi training programme. What you’ll bring * At least 3 years’ technical/mechanical experience (diesel, heavy automotive, forklifts, plant or similar). * Forklift and/or strong electrical experience is a real advantage and will be reflected in your rate. * Comfortable working independently on customer sites, as well as pitching in as part of a small team. * A can‑do mindset, good fault‑finding skills and a “no problem, we’ll sort it” approach with customers. * High standards of workmanship, safety and personal presentation. * Reliable, trustworthy, energetic and self‑motivated – you take pride in a job done right the first time. * NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa, and a full NZ driver licence. What’s in it for you * Competitive hourly rate, with overtime opportunities depending on workload + other benefits. * Sign on bonus * Permanent, full‑time role (40 hours per week) with a stable, growing, NZ‑owned company. * Modern, fully equipped service van and quality tools/support to do your best work. * Ongoing training through Mitsubishi’s technical programmes and genuine career development. * A values‑driven, family‑owned culture where you’re known by name, not just a number. If you’re an experienced Forklift Mechanic or a skilled diesel mechanic who enjoys variety, independence and working directly with customers, we’d love to hear from you. Apply online with your CV and a brief cover letter. All applications will be treated in strict confidence. No agencies please.
