Active Contracting is a class-leading earthmoving, site works and drainage business based in Auckland. With a growing list of high-calibre clients and many exciting drainage projects at the ready, ACL is an ambitious company experiencing strong growth.
As such, we require a skilled Drainlayer to deliver high levels of service to our clients. Reporting to our Drainage Project Manager, you’re a hands-on foreman. Ideally, you have 5 years experience in civil and residential drainage systems. Civil experience is critical.

You have demonstrated experience with:
- Installing, maintaining and repairing civil and residential drainage systems, including stormwater, sewer, and wastewater systems to NZ building standards and codes
- PVC, PE, and concrete pipes. Excavating trenches, laying pipes, and connecting drainage systems according to engineered specifications
- Reading and interpreting drainage plans, specifications, and engineered drawings
- Collaborating effectively with project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope
- Troubleshooting and resolving any drainage-related issues during the construction process
- Ensuring safe work practices, including experience with deep excavations, trench shields and boxes
- Keeping records of work completed, materials used, and any issues encountered
- Service trenching, conduit installation, draw wires, water mains and PE welding
- Setting and operating rotating and pipe lasers

To be eligible for this role, you must be:
• A NZ resident or hold a valid NZ work visa;
• Registered NZPGDB Drainlayer (or easily renewable)
• A holder of a full NZ Drivers Licence (min Class 1)
• SiteSafe / ConstructSafe registered; and
• 100% drug free.
