RedBull Powder Company manufactures a range of explosives products and provides comprehensive drilling and blasting services to quarries, mines and construction projects, both in New Zealand and abroad. RedBull Powder is recruiting an experienced Shot Firer to co-ordinate drilling and blasting activities for existing and new customers. The role will be based across Auckland-Waikato regions and would suit an applicant within these regions or looking to relocate to the region. Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to: * Support the company and your team to achieve zero harm by actively identifying and managing all hazards to ensure a safe and efficient work environment * Shot design, loading and firing, utilising accurate blast design, survey and mark out practices. * Handling, transportation and use of explosives in compliance with company operating procedures, all applicable laws and regulations and all customer site procedures * Ensure all pre and post blast documentation is completed correctly and submitted on time. * Ensure all explosive products are accounted for, explosive magazine stock books are kept accurate, and Dangerous Goods documentation is compiled and submitted as required * Develop, maintain and enhance relationships with allocated customers through regular visits, inspections and support of their site blasting requirements, planning, safety guidelines and environment conditions. Key factors to your success include: * Hold a current NZ Certified Handlers Certificate / Controlled Substances Licence * Ideally three (3) years Shot Firing experience in quarries, in a range of geologies * Capable of working independently as well as having the ability to motivate a working team * Ability to develop working relationships with all stakeholders * Clean and current Drivers Licence * Excellent reporting and communication skills, both written and verbal * Proactive attitude and a desire to learn new skills Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be given clear instruction and direction to provide you with confidence in delivering the highest quality work and service levels to all customers. You must be able to work effectively alone and within small teams, contributing positively to RedBull’s strong values and culture. These positions do travel some distances within the respective region therefore some overnight stays are required. This Shot Firers role offers a competitive salary band $80,000 to $120,000, with final remuneration set and agreed to the level of experience, training and knowledge of the successful applicant.
