About the role:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-savvy Export Airfreight Operator to join our clients growing team close to Christchurch Airport. Our client is proudly New Zealand owned and operated and has been a leader in the market for over 30 years. They run a lean and agile structure, but for the right candidate there's plenty of room to grow. The Offer:
* $75K-$85K base salary (depending on experience)

* Monday to Friday business hours with weekend work once every 4 weeks
Key Responsibilities:
* Communicate directly with domestic and international clients to coordinate shipments
* Build strong relationships with airlines and overseas agents to ensure timely, efficient movement of freight
* Resolve queries and provide exceptional customer service throughout the export process
* Prepare accurate and compliant export documents for a wide range of perishable goods, including seafood, meat, dairy, and fresh produce
* Ensure all documentation meets airline, government, and destination country requirements
* Manage physical and digital documentation systems, maintaining traceability and easy access
* Input shipment details and client data into relevant freight management systems with a high level of accuracy
* Generate freight quotes, liaise with carriers to obtain competitive rates, and present tailored options to clients
* Keep shipment records up to date for tracking, billing, and compliance purposes
Skills and Experience:
* You will ideally have experience as a freight forwarder
* Preferably experienced in both perishable and dry cargo
* You must have a Customs Pin
* harp attention to detail and reliability
* Calm under pressure and a curiosity to learn
* Strong work ethic with a can-do mindset
* High computer literacy (especially Word and Excel)
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
* Friendly attitude and a good sense of humor
* Quick to learn new systems and processes
* Clean driver's license
* Bonus if you have E-Cert experience, or exposure to EDI/Cargowise.
