This is an opportunity to join at the very beginning and help shape how CarExpert shows up in New Zealand. **Job Summary** As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, you will work closely with your peers within the Australian team in an agile environment to deliver new projects and continuous improvements to our internal and customer facing systems. We're looking for someone who is passionate, proactive, goal oriented and possesses excellent problem-solving skills. This role is critical to the ongoing development and maintenance of our NZ codebase and infrastructure, and report directly to Australia’s Engineering Manager. **Key Responsibilities** - Working with the Australian product manager and engineering team to scope, build, test and deploy new features and fixes across our projects and products for NZ. - Building and supporting React and Next.js frontend applications. - Integrating external systems with CarExperts. - Peer review code authored by other developers across code shared between Australia and New Zealand. - Get involved in discussions and initiatives to improve the codebase and technical design. - Investigate and fix bugs in our codebase. - Own and support the full technical stack, including frontend, backend, APIs, and infrastructure. - Mentor and coach junior members of the team. # Education, Experience & Skills * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. * Minimum three years experience in development with NodeJS, TypeScript and React.An understanding and appreciation of SOLID principles and elegant and testable code. * Experience in developing on AWS or Azure and building infrastructure as code. * Good knowledge of relational databases using MySQL/MariaDB or PostgreSQL and familiar with DB schema designs. * Good knowledge of noSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB. * RESTful API in JSON formats, and JWT concepts. * Automated testing including unit testing and end to end testing. * Good knowledge of Git for project version control. * Eagerness to learn and open to work with any programming language. * Experience in Agile development processes, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams. * Tolerance for ambiguity, a dynamically evolving environment, and a willingness to take on new challenges * Propensity for personal motivation, initiative, adaptability and the willingness to face challenges head-on. # Why join us! * Be part of the founding for CarExpert New Zealand. * Play a defining role in shaping one of the most trusted automotive brands in the region. * Work alongside respected journalists, creators and commercial leaders across NZ and Australia.
