Our dedicated cook plays a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our Tamariki by preparing nutritious, delicious meals every day. About the Role We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative cook to join our team. Working in a modern, air-conditioned kitchen separate from classrooms, you’ll have access to quality appliances and supportive colleagues. You’ll plan and prepare daily meals that are both healthy and appealing, bringing your creativity to menu design while meeting Ministry of Health guidelines and our centre’s healthy eating standards. The role includes: • Planning weekly menus and managing a weekly shopping list within budget • Preparing meals and baking for children under six years old • Catering for allergies and dietary needs with care and precision • Maintaining high hygiene and food safety standards • Filing records and documentation in line with MPI, Auckland Council and MoE requirements • Working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment What We’re Looking For • A Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate recognised by authorities • Knowledge of kitchen health & safety and food hygiene • Passion for cooking and baking, especially for children • Understanding of allergies and dietary requirements • Computer literacy for menu planning and ordering • Strong budget management skills • A genuine passion for healthy eating and creativity in food Why Join Us?
