Canon EOS 20D Digital Camera Modified for Infra-Red Photography

Not your usual camera - capture unique images with unseen Infrared light! I am selling my much loved, IR modified Canon 20D, Canon 18-55mm lens, battery, battery charger, 8GB SanDisk Ultra flash disk, 20D manual and Lowepro carry case. In other words, the complete package for someone who loves experimenting with photography, and capturing their own unique images. This camera was professionally converted in the US by Isaac Szabo, a well known photographer who has recently won a major Wildlife Photographer of the Year award. Infrared photography allows us to see the world in a way that our naked eyes (and traditional cameras) cannot. The infrared spectrum exists beyond the spectrum of visible light, but it is always present and can have a very dramatic effect on your images when properly captured and processed. (Please note that cameras modified for infrared photography are no longer capable of taking traditional photos). What makes for a good infrared photograph? There are no set rules… one of my favourite aspects of IR is the unexpected quality it brings to images. You are never quite sure how things will look when captured in the infrared spectrum. Typically though, the biggest differences happen with organic material. Grass, trees, people… they all appear much differently in infrared and can be particularly fun to photograph, especially in New Zealand’s bright sun. A few of my images are shown here. IR images do require some post-processing to obtain your desired look (mine are developed in Adobe Lightroom), but there are lots of tutorials available online. My 20D is well used but has been very carefully looked after and is in amazingly good condition for its 20 year age. It has never let me down and still behaves perfectly. I am selling this because I no longer have the chance to use it frequently and would like someone else to have fun with it.
