




The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Workshop Foreman to join our Westgate team on a permanent basis. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will help manage the day-to-day operation of the workshop while supporting our mechanics with diagnostics, repairs and maintenance across our fleet. You will work on a variety of diesel, petrol and electric buses and ensure that all tasks are completed safely, accurately and efficiently. This position involves allocating daily work, supporting the Workshop Manager, dealing with suppliers, guiding apprentices and junior staff and ensuring Health and Safety expectations are met at all times. You will also undertake maintenance and repair work yourself, including fault detection, testing, air conditioning servicing, and repairs on mechanical and EV systems. Maintaining accurate job cards, overseeing inventory and keeping our scheduling and Vehicle Management System up to date are key parts of this role. You will also take part in the on-call roster which currently operates one week on and one week off. About You You are an experienced automotive professional looking for the next step in your career. You enjoy leading by example and supporting others while taking pride in the quality of your work. You understand the expectations of Waka Kotahi and keep up to date with industry regulations and best practice. You have the ability to diagnose and repair faults, stay organised and maintain accurate records. You have an interest in working with both diesel and electric buses and enjoy being part of a team that values safety, quality and continuous improvement.
