40 hours per week $23.50 - $29.10 + House Leader Allowance Henderson, West Auckland Buscomb house is a mix of female and male residents between the ages of 37 - 70. This is a high needs house with 4 of the people we support using wheelchairs. Our support workers assist our residents with feeding, bathing and personal cares as they have both physical and intellectual disabilities. This is a very social group of people who love to dance and sing, go on picnics, van rides, exploring new places and most of all establish connections with people in the local community. Our House Leader role combines support work and engages, motivates a team of a support team in the home. Working and gaining guidance from your Service Coordinator you would be supervising to ensure and efficient and effective successful service to people we support in a community home. If you're interested in supporting people to develop self-confidence and independence, and live their lives of choice, lives like any other, in their own communities, then **we want to hear from you today!** **Skills & Experience** - Experience leading a team is greatly beneficial especially with the ability to coach and develop individuals - Effective report writing skills - Organising and allocating rosters - Exposure to balancing general ledgers - Ability to communicate effectively and supportively with the people you support, - their families and your coordinator - To be fit enough for an active role that engages anything between sports, community engagement, and recreational activities to personal cares - Excellent, clear, understandable verbal and written English is a pre-requisite to be considered for this role **The ideal candidate will have:** - Experience supporting people with disabilities and/or challenging behaviours - Reliability, Commitment, and Passion for working with people - A driver's licence - A relevant qualification - The ability to use a computer effectively, including programs such as Word, Internet Explorer, and email If you are a non-resident applying for this role you must meet the following INZ Level 3 skill requirements to be considered: • Have worked in the care workforce for 24 months or more, and been paid at least the care workforce wage rate during that time, or • A relevant qualification on the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF) — this must be at least a level 4 qualification for a role at skill level 3, or a diploma for a role at skill level 2. **Apply Now if you have a passion for working with people and want to make a difference!** **Spectrum Care** is proudly an equal opportunity employer.
