Experienced Deep Sea Trawler Deck Hand

We are looking for suitably skilled staff to join our local port logistics team and require motivated, safety conscious staff who are experienced in the operation of cranes and heavy machinery. Our preference would be for operators who have experience loading log vessels, using ship's cranes, however this is not essential as full training, and support will be provided to applicants who are reliable, keen to learn and develop in a career as a Stevedore. If successful you will be employed with a primary function operating heavy machinery, such as Ship's Cranes as well as having the opportunity to perform other general duties. On offer is permanent work with guaranteed minimum hours per month. The opportunity to travel and work in ports outside of Nelson is also available from time to time. Hours of work can be irregular and vary due to shipping requirements.
