Summary: This full-time position involves managing harvester chain sharpening and chainsaw bar maintenance, including cleaning, sharpening, bar straightening, and customer notification. The person who is retiring has been in this position for the last 15 years. We have a staff of 12. The job entails managing the sharpening of Harvester Chains and maintenance of Chainsaw Bars. We have automatic Sharpeners and a hydraulic Bar straightener. Our yard is at 216 Forestry Road, Ashley Duties include- Cleaning of Chains in our Auto wash Sharpening Chains Bar Straightening Tip replacement Chain repairs Notifying Customers of issues Filling out paperwork/ Computer entry of details Stock Management Maintenance of equipment This job could be done in Four days but is a fulltime position. There is some lifting of chain buckets(20kg) but moved around with sack barrow. We are looking for someone who- -Is of Tidy appearance -Have a positive attitude -Be able to get along with others -Be reasonably fit -Be able to work productively -is open to change -can drive a computer or be willing to learn All training will be supplied as we understand that not many will have this experience in Canterbury.
