Job Description: Compliance Officer Location: Millers Flat, Central Otago, New Zealand Company: Hawkeswood Mining Limited Reports to: Operations Overview: Hawkeswoods, a family-owned New Zealand company, with 20 years of experience in civil and mining operations throughout New Zealand, has launched the Millers Flat Alluvial Project. This project will employ up to 30 personnel in roles ranging from earth moving and dredge operations to administration, health, safety, and compliance. Based near Millers Flat township in Central Otago, the project is expected to last seven years. Hawkeswood Mining Limited values cultural and people diversity and is committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety. Key Responsibilities: Compliance and Reporting * Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify required corrective actions. * Investigate and report of incidents, breaches, or complaints and implement follow up action plans * Monitor and Maintain all of our Resource Consent requirements. * Assist our contract planners with information needed for compliance reporting. * Assist and partake in our community planting projects. General Administration * Manage day-to-day office operations, including handling correspondence, filing, and maintaining office supplies. * Provide administrative support to site departments as needed. * Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is filed correctly and is easily accessible. * Handle incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel or department. Qualifications/Experience: * Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. * Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. * Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Excellent sense of humour. * A clean driver's license is essential. * Experience in Compliance is preferred.
