About the Construction Foreman Position in Dunedin We are seeking an experienced and proactive Construction Foreman to join our dynamic team in Dunedin. In this key role, you will oversee construction projects from start to completion, ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities: * Lead and supervise diverse crews on a range of civil and commercial construction projects in Dunedin and the wider Otago region. * Coordinate daily onsite activities, ensuring all work meets agreed schedules, quality standards, and budget requirements. * Champion a strong health, safety, and environmental culture, ensuring compliance with company policies and legislative requirements at all times. * Interpret project plans, specifications, and drawings, ensuring understanding across all team members and subcontractors. * Maintain clear and effective communication with project managers, clients, suppliers, and on-site personnel. * Mentor and train team members, encouraging skills growth and a collaborative site environment. * Identify and resolve onsite challenges and potential risks promptly and effectively. Construction Foreman Skills and Experience: * Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within the construction or civil infrastructure sector. * Extensive practical knowledge of construction methodologies, equipment, and current best practices. * Strong ability to manage and motivate work crews, fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace. * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. * Demonstrated commitment to health and safety standards. * Competency in interpreting construction plans and documentation. * A current and full New Zealand driver’s licence. * Right to work in New Zealand is essential.
