We are working with a respected company that specialises in delivering high-quality security solutions across the Hamilton and greater Waikato region, with clients in the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. Due to growth in workload, we are now looking for an experienced Security Technician to join the team. This is a full-time, ongoing role with weekly pay, a competitive hourly rate, and the potential for permanent employment for the right candidate. ABOUT THE ROLE: This is a hands-on, field-based role where you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing a range of electronic security systems. You'll work independently or alongside other technicians across new builds, upgrades, and service contracts. Key responsibilities include: * Installation of alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and intercoms * Preventative and reactive maintenance of security systems * Diagnosing and resolving faults on-site * System programming and configuration * Running cabling, fitting hardware, and integrating system components * Completing documentation, reports, and system handovers * Communicating with clients on-site and ensuring high service standards * Liaising with team leaders, project managers, and electricians as needed No two days are the same. You'll be working across a wide range of environments-from high-end residential homes to large-scale commercial sites, giving you variety and exposure to different technologies and client needs. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: * Minimum 2 years' experience in the security installation and service industry * Experience with alarm systems (e.g. Paradox, DSC, or similar), CCTV (e.g. Hikvision, Dahua), and access control systems (e.g. Gallagher, ICT) * Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills * Your own reliable vehicle and standard toolkit * Excellent presentation and communication skills * Ability to work independently and take initiative * Physically fit and comfortable working on ladders or at heights * Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test * Preferred security technician licence (COA) or ability to obtain. DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL: * Electrical Registration or equivalent qualification * Networking and IP system configuration experience * Experience in commercial and industrial security projects * Working at Heights or EWP certification If you meet most but not all the above, we still encourage you to apply.
