This is a real beauty, a magical instrument and piece of art, made in NZ by Barebones. I am selling as it is not quite right for the type of music I play and groups I belong to so rarely used and sadly sitting idle. Phoenix series banjo ukuleles are ex-banjo and banjo-mandolin bodies, re-furbished with new, replacement necks. A seriously good banjo ukulele far surpassing the mass produced brands. True baritone scale currently with guitar strings and guitar tuning. Can also be tuned as baritone ukulele. Headstock and heel overlay – Black Walnut Neck – Rock maple with Wenge skunk stripe Body, ex banjo mandolin, veneer is possibly Oak Fretboard – Purpleheart New, genuine velum skin head giving that great “old time” sound. Twin through body rods, securing the neck and preventing pan compression and aiding tuning stability. Grover geared, sealed 18:1 ratio machine heads. Paua (abalone) fret markers. Bone nut. New bridge. Comes with attractive hard case.
