Benchmade 490 Pocketknife - CPM-S90V Steel - Alloy Handles

Having a clear out, check my other listings! Offers welcome. Benchmade 490 Pocket Knife - S90V Steel Really nice knife with classic proportions and great blade geometry. CPM-S90V steel is an excellent blade steel that holds an edge really well. Alloy handles. Owned from new, purchased about 10 years ago and used intermittently for a few years, but have not used it very much lately, so time to move it along. Overall good used condition, a couple of dings in the handle as shown in photos from being dropped once, and one scratch on the side of the blade as shown in photos. Very good blade geometry for fine work. Note, this is an assisted flipper style opening mechanism (similar size and opening mechanism to the Kershaw Leek and other models available to purchase at stores here in Auckland). This is nice for convenient one hand opening when using on your property or for hunting / tramping / camping / etc., but to be on the safe side, I do not carry this in town as law enforcement could potentially take a dim view of the opening mechanism. If you are really keen, you can supposedly “de-assist” by disassembling the knife and removing the mechanism, but this would void the warranty and apparently is a difficult job requiring special tools, so I have left it alone and only used in appropriate circumstances.
