You will be responsible for leading the production team in the factory and will be heavily involved in all site operations. You will work closely with many members of the team including the Site Manager, Operations Manager and Administration team. You must have proven knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing and be a key advocate for all things Health and Safety in production. This role is Monday to Friday day shift hours based in Onehunga. We are looking for somebody to stay on a long-term basis who wants to really integrate into the team. Your duties will include: * Leading the factory to achieve production targets and goals * Working alongside the Site Manager on all site operations * Ensuring adequate resources are available for effective execution of the production plan * Inventory control * Completing reporting * Ensure Health and Safety procedures are followed and investigate any incidents * Conducting and recording regular safety toolbox talks * Ensuring a wide range of lean manufacturing approaches are implemented * Completing one on ones with all team members * Training staff (new staff members and ongoing training for existing team members) * Coaching and developing the team members * You will be actively involved with ongoing recruitment and training Role Requirements * Experience in roofing materials production is preferred * Alternatively any heavy manufacturing management experience * Effective communication skills and ability to be a decision-maker * Good leadership and people management skills * Minimum of 3 years production management experience is essential * Strong IT skills - you will be working on computers daily * Recruitment experience * Excellent understanding of Health & Safety procedures * Understanding of accounting principles and employment legislation * Self-motivated and proactive * To be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol test * A great attitude and willingness to learn About the Company We are a leading manufacturer and distributor of roofing materials to the construction industry.
