Oakley’s Premium Fresh Vegetables, winner of the 2022 Horticulture NZ ‘Environmental Award’, are looking for a Maintenance Engineer (approx. 40 hours a week). Based in Southbridge, you must have the right to work in New Zealand and be able to get to work reliably each day. About the Role We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Assistant to provide some much needed support to our busy maintenance department at our main processing and growing operation, located near Southbridge. This role is crucial to keeping our business moving, and is responsible for: • Completing jobs as assigned, including preventative maintenance of fixed plant and equipment. • Responding to breakdowns of plant & machinery. • Keeping the workshop clean, tidy and organised at all times, ensuring that all tools and equipment used for maintenance and repairs are put away at the end of the job. • Being proactive and looking for ways to improve the workshop. • Abiding by all Health & Safety Policies and procedures. • Reporting all accidents / incidents, near misses and hazards immediately. • Actively leading and monitoring H&S initiatives to improve H&S within the workplace. • Carrying out any additional duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably required to meet the demands of efficient company functioning. About You Reporting to our Maintenance Manager and working closely with the Production and Post-Harvest Managers, you will be a self-starter who can work independently as well as part of a team and will have an inquisitive eye for detail.
