Manufacturing Machine Operators Required – Temp to Perm Based in Rangiora our client is needing a machine operator to fill a night shift role in their Manufacturing Plant. Working within a small team, we are looking for someone who is mechanically minded, who can commit and take ownership of their role, someone willing to upskill within the company. Starting ASAP We are looking for the right person with the right attitude, initiative and commitment. Key Responsibilities: • Operate and monitor plant equipment and systems (e.g., boilers, compressors, pumps, motors, control systems) • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems • Diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimise downtime • Analyse plant performance data and implement process improvements • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations • Support maintenance projects from planning through execution • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other departments as needed Qualifications: • Qualification or qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field • 3+ years of experience in plant operations and/or engineering • Strong understanding of plant systems, controls, and safety protocols • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs, and manuals • Hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities • Ability to work flexible hours or shifts as required Preferred Qualifications: • Certification in plant operations, safety, or relevant trades • Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies What We Offer: • Competitive salary and benefits package • 4 days on, 3 days off cycle • Day and night shifts (3 monthly roster) • Opportunities for training and career advancement • A collaborative and safety-focused work environment
