We are seeking a skilled and motivated Plant Engineer & Operator to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and compliant operation of our plant.
Position Overview:
As a Plant Engineer & Operator, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of plant equipment and systems, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and efficiency. This hybrid role combines hands-on plant operation with engineering responsibilities, including maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and monitor plant equipment and systems (e.g., boilers, compressors, pumps, motors, control systems)
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimise downtime
• Analyse plant performance data and implement process improvements
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Support maintenance projects from planning through execution
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other departments as needed
Qualifications:
• Qualification or qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of experience in plant operations and/or engineering
• Strong understanding of plant systems, controls, and safety protocols
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs, and manuals
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work flexible hours or shifts as required
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification in plant operations, safety, or relevant trades
• Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System)
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
