Description

SANSUI QRX 6001 QUADRAPHONIC 4 CHANNEL RECEIVER (1974-76) A grand old survivor. This ran a three speaker system in my bar (Micro) in Martinborough for about three and a half years. The beauty of them is that you can process up to 8 speakers through them with zero loss of performance. They just pump out a big, solid wall of sound. Rated at around 24 watts per channel (which sounds tiny in today's faux power output terminology) they are anything but shy! These will drive any speaker you strap them to. A common scenario would be dual sets. But as I say...they will run four. All systems are go and I've been running it on my deck for a month to ensure it's as good as ever. FM works well and there are all the standard outlets to use, including two TAPE points for running things like CD players through with zero loss of gain. Has AUX, of course...but why would you use it? Add this to solid turntable or CD partners and the results are high quality. These are 24 REAL watts...not the junk transistorised modern stuff...all that 500 there and 1000 here. Which is rubbish by comparison to these old, venerable heavyweights. PICK UP IS ESSENTIAL. This weighs around 60lbs in old school terms...and they are huge machines, so bear that in mind...this is not some cute little amp that will fit in anywhere! The final photo is an attempt to convey the sheer size of this receiver...against out dining table. Thus, I would never expect to courier this machine! I can DELIVER to Masterton, Carterton, Martinborough, Featherston etc for gas money...and Wellington for a little more. $20 local, $40 Welly. BETTER STILL...YOU PICK UP and have a listen when you do. Thanks for looking. I'll be sad to see her go...but she should be being used.
