The Store Manager will be responsible for the professional management of the store whilst providing excellence in customer service to exceed the expectations of both internal and external clients. As the Store Manager you'll be responsible for the professional management of one casual staff member and the store whilst providing excellence in customer service to exceed the expectations of both internal and external customers. You'll ensure the site is fully compliant in all Health and Safety matters, managing any hazards and risks and keeping up to date with relevant training. The ability to optimise the stock turn at the store, while ensuring the stock level and service targets are continually achieved, is of paramount importance. You will report to the National Warehouse Manager who is also based in Auckland. You will be a senior member of the warehousing team and you will be looking after the warehouse staff, especially when the Warehouse Manager is away. However, please note that this is still a Warehouse Operator role and you will still be expected to carry out standard warehousing duties. If you are a Senior Warehouse Operator/Storeperson and looking for a step up in responsibilities, this could be perfect for you. This is a fast-paced, busy warehouse and you will be busy. The shift pattern is Monday to Friday 08:00AM - 04:30PM. This is a long-term, permanent role for the right person. Duties will include: * Allocating resources across the teams within warehousing and production * Managing and monitoring team movements and tasks * Coordinating the booking and scheduling of freight forwarders * Being active on the Health and Safety committee and driving a positive mindset with this * Ensure all equipment is working satisfactorily * Lead regular cycle counts * Maintenance schedule for equipment on site including forklifts * Operating a Forklift Truck as well as a Reach Truck * Picking and packing orders * Devanning containers and putting stock away * Loading and wrapping pallets * Receiving orders and preparing documentation using a computer * Operating other machinery on-site a few hours a week including a guillotine and slitter machine * Regularly lifting 20kgs of product * Operating other machinery on site including a guillotine Skills and Experience * You must have some people leadership experience and be able to effectively lead a team * Must be skilled and knowledge in warehousing Health and Safety * You must have a valid Forklift license * You will ideally have Reach Truck experience and a license * At least 1 year experience operating a forklift truck * Ability to organise workflow for the warehousing team and follow up on any outstanding issues or queries * Proven experience of driving a positive Health and Safety culture * You must be computer literate as you will be preparing documentation * Able to regularly lift 20kgs * Physically able (as there will be some lifting required) * Able to pass a pre-employment drug test About the Company We are a nationwide paper distribution company who have been operating for over 90 years.
