We are searching for someone who has: • Ability to work independently • Good teamwork skills and work ethic • Adaptable and flexible • Physically fit and able to work with heavy products • Strong reliability history • Reliable transport This role is with our afternoon/night shift which operates from 3.30pm. The end of shift depends on operational requirements each week and can therefore be up to 2.30am. Therefore, you must be able to show that this shift will suit your lifestyle, with dedication to working these hours consistently. Our transport division, APL Direct, transports aluminium, glass, and associated products throughout New Zealand. This role is responsible for the smooth and timely unloading of inbound line-haul trucks and the reloading of freight bound for our South Island customers. We’re looking for a team player who is comfortable working across Saturday to Sunday and are committed to keeping freight moving efficiently and safely. The Role involves: • Unloading inbound glass line-haul units from the North Island in a safe and timely manner • Sorting and reloading freight—such as glass frail and trolleys—for regional South Island deliveries • Checking freight documentation for accuracy and maintaining clear records • A minimum of 10 hours per week, across Saturday to Sunday, 8am-2:30pm (flexible timing if required) • Excellent working conditions in a well-equipped logistics centre We are searching for someone like you, who has: • Current F endorsement + OSH Certificate is preferred but training can be provided for the right person • Minimum Class 1 licence, Class 4 is advantageous • High attention to detail and accuracy to ensure that all freight is handled correctly • A good understanding of safe loading practices and transport legislation • Impeccable safety standards • A positive and flexible attitude This role supports our South Island distribution network and plays a key part in keeping our customers supplied and satisfied.
