There are seasonal demands which require flexibility in the hours, including Saturday mornings and some nights during the peak periods. Job Description Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for receiving beef and lamb livestock from transport agencies and maintaining a constant flow of stock to the processing rooms. You will oversee a team of 15 - 20 staff whose role is in ensuring animal welfare and animal presentation is maintained at all times as well as compliance with all processes and procedures. Being able to lead and motivate your team is a key aspect of this role. You will have a committed approach to leadership with the ability to drive your team members to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals. Qualifications This role requires attention to detail when completing documentation such as receiving stock and producing kill agendas. It also requires the ability to train and upskill others to ensure the efficient operation of the department. Good animal husbandry and knowledge of animal welfare would be advantageous, however not a requirement. An upbeat attitude towards staff management and accountability and engagement and empowering staff to perform is required. Previous experience in this area is preferable. They are seeking an experienced Chemical Mixing/Batching Supervisor to lead a small production team, ensuring every batch meets strict safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities As a Chemical Mixing/Batching Supervisor, your main responsibilities will include overseeing the production team, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, and managing the batching process from start to finish. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: * Lead the production team - Supervise and work alongside two factory hands in daily operations. * Champion safety - Enforce strict safety procedures, including handling hazardous materials and PPE use. * Oversee batching - Weigh raw materials, set up equipment, and follow precise formulas to produce consistent batches. * Maintain quality - Conduct in-process quality checks (pH levels, viscosity, clarity, stability) and work with QA. * Troubleshoot issues - Identify and resolve production problems; mechanical aptitude an advantage. * Train and mentor staff - Coach new and existing team members in safety, processes, and quality control. * Maintain accurate records - Keep detailed logs and ensure the work area remains clean and organised. To be successful in this role, you will need: * Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience in a chemical production or manufacturing environment. * Minimum 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role (preferred). * Chemistry degree or equivalent qualification (preferred). * Strong knowledge of chemicals used in cleaning product manufacturing (solvents, surfactants, etc.). * Familiarity with mixing/blending, reactors, homogenizers, heating/cooling units, bottling, capping, packaging, and labelling machines. * Forklift licence (or ability to obtain). * Physically fit and able to lift up to 20kg. * Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. * Must have a clean police record with no charges pending.
