A bit about the role… We are looking for a positive and enthusiastic candidate to join our Point of Sale Team in at Mitre 10  MEGA Petone. We are looking for a positive and enthusiastic candidate who understands the importance of providing outstanding customer service to our trade and DIY customers.  The Point of Sale team deliver the first and last impression of our business and the person we seek for this position must have a high level of integrity, the ability to remain cool under pressure and be able to think on their feet. Previous cash handling experience and customer service experience are a must, while knowledge of timber and building products will be a strong advantage. To be successful you must have:  * A passion for providing excellent customer service  * Previous customer service experience is preferrable * The ability to build great relationships with our regular customers  * Excellent numeracy and literacy skills  * Previous cash handling experience  * High level of accuracy and attention to detail  * Confidence in making decisions as required  * Confidence using a computer  * An outgoing personality with a positive and friendly manner We are looking for a Full Time Team Member to fill our Sunday - Thursday roster. We aren't your typical retail store, no two days are the same in terms of our customers, the number of donations received, or what you may find while processing and pricing goods to sell. **About the Role:** This role is critical to our stores success and primarily responsible for providing our customers and donors alike with an excellent experience that leads to repeat visits. On any given day, tasks can switch between serving and greeting customers and donors on the shop floor, to working in the stock processing area. We have the following fixed term roles to cover our busy season and holidays for our full-time team members.  These are fixed term roles are through to January 04, 2026, in our busy garden center and reports to our Garden Manager.  The Days and times: * Saturday 9am - 4pm x1 shift  * Sunday 9am - 4pm x2 shifts  We are looking for people with the below attributes:  * Great with people and love customer service  * Have a passion for plants/gardening * Can handle a busy, varied work environment * Reliable, energetic, and self-motivated * Can follow and accept instructions * Ability to work alone and within a team * Work in all weather conditions * Physically strong and fit as there is a lot of heavy lifting involved  * Love being part of a team * Positive and friendly, with a can-do attitude * Tech savvy * An eye for detail * Flexible to help cover additional shifts where available and required We would love to hear from you!
