He Korero mo te Turanga | The Role We're looking for a Mental Health Clinician to join our Better Mental Health Outcomes - Central service, based at Springhill Prison, Te Kauwhata. This fixed term role (through to 30 June 2026) is 24 or 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You'll provide brief, evidence-based mental health assessments and interventions for people in prison, supporting them through sentence and reintegration. You'll also help build capability in corrections staff to recognise and respond to mental distress. This service supports people with mild to moderate mental health or cognitive needs as they transition back into the community, offering up to three months of supported living and navigation support. Referrals come via a panel including Corrections, Probation, and Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa. He Korero mou | About You We're looking for a compassionate, experienced mental health professional who can apply their skills in a dynamic, kaupapa-aligned justice environment. You'll work closely with tangata whaiora, whanau, corrections staff, and other professionals to deliver culturally responsive and person-centred care. You will bring: * Full Registration under the HPCA Act 2003 (Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Clinical Psychologist, DAPAANZ or Social Worker) * Current Annual Practising Certificate * At least 2 years of experience in mental health settings * Training in evidence-based talking therapies * Strong ability to assess, plan, and deliver brief interventions * A collaborative approach to working across teams and services * Confidence in engaging with tangata whaiora and whanau from diverse backgrounds * Sound clinical judgement and excellent communication skills Experience in corrections, justice, or forensic mental health settings is desirable. We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Kia Ora Ake - Clinician to join our newly established, locally co-designed tamariki hinengaro wellbeing service across Counties Manukau. Kia Ora Ake is part of the national Mana Ake programme and supports tamariki aged 5-12, their whanau, and kura/schools with their mental and emotional wellbeing. Based at our Lambie Drive, Manukau office, this is a full-time Monday to Friday role (40 hours per week). As a Clinician, you'll apply your clinical skills to support tamariki both one-on-one and in group settings, contributing to whole-school wellbeing strategies. You'll also act as a cultural and clinical change agent—embedding practices that reflect the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and promote culturally safe care. Some of your mahi will include: * Providing clinical assessment, treatment, and intervention for tamariki with mild-to-moderate mental health needs * Delivering group-based or class-wide wellbeing sessions and activities * Working collaboratively with whanau, schools, kura Maori, health providers, and other professionals * Applying trauma-informed, strengths-based and developmentally appropriate approaches * Contributing to a safe, supportive and inclusive team culture * Supporting quality documentation, risk management, and service development Nga Pumanawa Ou | About You You'll be a skilled and compassionate clinician who thrives in collaborative, community-based mahi.
