Cake Commercial Services are a leading protective coatings applicator who specialise in providing protective coatings for concrete and steel. We have numerous clients throughout New Zealand and pride ourselves on being a forward thinking and innovative company. We currently have 2 vacancies for skilled Industrial Painters to join our high performing team. While this job is Wellington-based, you may be required to travel to other regions as part of this job.  Type: Full-time, permanent Pay rate: $28.00-$38.00, depending on skills and experience Minimum guaranteed hours: 40 hours weekly The key tasks you will be involved with include:  * Follow all Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental systems and procedures * To undertake water blasting of various substrates, e.g., steel beams, concrete walls and buildings * Working at heights and around access machinery and equipment * To prepare surfaces using hand and power tools to client specification * To sandblast steel substrates on various client sites using abrasive blast equipment * To use airless spray equipment to apply specific protective paints to client specification * To use WFT combs, electronic gauges and record QA/QC records * To mix and apply various types of paints according to specifications * To undertake training as required * To be flexible on location and staying away from home as required by projects * To drive company vehicles as required About You: We are looking for people who have at least three years' protective coatings experience in any combination of the following skills, and/or relevant qualifications: * Abrasive blasting * Water blasting * Preparation of steelwork (mechanical and hand prep) * Spray painting * Industrial painting You will be highly motivated, physically fit, enjoy working in teams and demonstrate a commitment to learning and growing.
