Antique leather purse/wallet c.1920s

This beautiful antique leather purse dates to the first decades of the twentieth century and is in remarkable condition. I love the little hinge closure. I imagine the pockets held important items like calling cards and the odd emergency stamp. The leather was a little dry so I have given it some wax to protect and condition. Sadly there are no markings to indicate its origins (beyond the style, age of the fabric and closures). The quality of the leather work and gilding made me think of Florence but the design looks a little Celtic… It is in very good condition with only minor damage to the leather (shown magnified in the photographs). It is a lovely piece of history that is still perfectly usable. Please look closely at the photographs as they form part of the description, measurements are also included in the photographs.
