Requirements At Serko, we’re building a modern, scalable platform to transform the way people experience business travel. As we deepen our lifecycle marketing capabilities, we need a Senior Software Engineer – Marketing Technology to help us get the most out of the tools that power personalised, data-driven campaigns. You’ll be embedded in one of our cross-functional product teams within our Product Engineering organisation, with a strong focus on marketing technology initiatives through a dedicated marketing technology track. While your primary focus will be enabling marketing success, you’ll have the support, community, and learning opportunities of our broader engineering organisation. This role is all about getting your hands dirty with implementation: configuring tags, wiring up events, enabling better tracking, and making the marketing engine faster, more measurable, and more compliant. What will you be doing Take ownership of Serko’s Google Tag Manager setup and shape how we use it to enable scalable, structured, and effective tagging. Design and deploy event tracking standards for behavioural data and campaign measurement, shaping Serko’s telemetry libraries and instrumentation systems. Integrate and manage marketing automation tools (e.g. Braze) for lifecycle communications across multiple channels. Support the effective use of marketing analytics platforms via structured tracking and reporting configurations. Collaborate with Marketing on customer audience segmentation, campaign setup, tooling use, and instrumentation best practices. Ensure privacy compliance and maintain high data integrity (e.g. consent management, GDPR). Partner with Data and Engineering teams to align technical architecture with campaign goals. What will you bring Strong experience implementing and managing tagging and analytics tools in production websites (especially GTM). Hands-on configuration experience with marketing automation platforms like Braze. Experience working with digital marketing and retargeting platforms, including tracking custom events, conversions, and funnels. Experience working with marketing attribution systems (e.g. Criteo) to measure and optimise campaign performance. Solid understanding of event tracking principles (client-side and server-side). Confident using JavaScript/TypeScript for implementing marketing tools, tag configurations, and broader engineering integration work. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills — you can work effectively with marketers, engineers, and product teams. Familiarity with consent frameworks and data privacy tools (GDPR, CCPA, etc.). Bonus if you have: Experience with data warehousing tools such as BigQuery or Snowflake. Exposure to Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) and identity stitching concepts. Familiarity with A/B testing tools and experimentation platforms. Experience working with APIs, webhooks, and data flows between marketing systems.
