Outdoor Programmes and Safety Manager

Our Outdoors Team is preparing for a new season, and we’re excited to offer the chance for an experienced and qualified outdoors expert to work with us to build on our established programmes and ensure the quality and safety of those. Joining our team means enabling young people to benefit from the unique growth and development that comes from outdoors and camp experiences. Of course you’ll get to work in an amazing outdoors environment, but it’s also a chance for you to: • Bring your outdoors qualifications and experience to a purpose-driven organisation • Become our in-house expert and leader in all things outdoors safety and compliance related • Lead the design and delivery of our programmes • Develop your management and leadership skills This is an active position with a mix of ‘office based’ and ‘in the field’ activities. You’ll be involved in a wide range of tasks, from designing and planning programmes, to training and competency checking staff, through to keeping SOPs up to date and assisting with safety audits, as well as being part of the instructional team. To do this, we’re looking for somebody who has: • A formal Outdoors qualification, e.g. NZOIA or similar, and ideally rescue trained • Current First Aid Certificate (PHEC or above) • Proven ability to build relationships with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
