Horizon Networks is recruiting for a Utility Arborist Apprentice and this role is a permanent full-time position. Reporting to the VegetationSupervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out professional vegetation control services for the Horizon Energy network and for external third-party customers. You will also be expected to build strong long-term relationships with our customers ensuring they see Horizon Networks as a preferred supplier with excellent customer service and technical support. To be successful a candidate will require the following qualifications and experience: * Working towards completing a formal qualification as an Arborist or a National Certificate in Arboriculture Level 3 and Utility Arboriculture unit standards * NZQA Chainsaw Unit Standards 6916 and 6917. * Current Unrestricted Manual NZ Drivers Licence, including heavy traffic (Class 2) but not essential. * Understanding of health and safety and any experience in tree work an advantage * Knowledge tree or utilities regulations an advantage * Excellent communication skills both written and oral * Works well in a team environment – a strong team player * Strong interpersonal/people skills * Customer/client focused * Strong work ethic essential The Horizon Energy Group takes pride on its commitment to the health and safety of all its stakeholders and bases all its activities on safety leadership, risk management and worker participation as premise.
