This all-expenses-paid gig will get you there! We are seeking a motivated and adventurous door technician to join our maintenance team at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. This unique opportunity involves working in one of the most remote and challenging environments on Earth, assisting in maintaining and repairing the state-of-the-art doors down there. **Location: McMurdo Station, Antarctica (approximately 1000 residents in summer season)** **Rate: $45 per hour (WAGES) $55 per hour (CONTRACTING)****** **Two intakes available - choose one or stay for both:** * **Intake 1:** October 2025 - Feb 2026 * **Intake 2:** Feb 2026 - October 2026 **Your experience should include maintaining the following door systems:** * Roller doors * Insulated metal swing doors * Service doors * Other commercial and industrial door systems **What to expect when you're down there:** * Accommodation provided (you will be in a bunkroom) * Free food (the meals aren't Michelin star but they're still pretty good) * Free flights from any * Work schedule: Mon - Sat, 7am - 5pm **What to expect before you start:** * Medical and dental checks * Criminal background and security checks * Vaccinations **Please note we expect to be recruiting for the following roles soon:** * Sheet metal fabricator * Pipe fitter * Plumber * Boiler technician * Boiler Operator If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you! **SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES REQUIRE OPEN WORK RIGHTS IN NEW ZEALAND.
