* Permanent Role * Flexible Start Date * Overtime Available Maintenance Engineer role, general maintenance of all plant equipment Your New Role: Repairs and Maintenance Undertake the maintenance of all machinery, including trucks, excavators, and forklifts. Perform repairs on all machinery, including trucks, excavators and forklifts as directed - liaise with the Engineering and Maintenance Supervisor if outsourcing is required for the work. Ensure that all necessary parts required to perform maintenance and/or repair work are ordered or stored on site, in consultation with the Engineering and Maintenance Supervisor. Undertake repairs and/or maintenance of other fixed assets, including, but not limited to, buildings, bins, excavator attachments as directed by the Engineering Supervisor. Report all damage to the Engineering and Maintenance Supervisor. Undertake assessment of repairs as required. Perform daily checks on all vehicles and machinery and report any maintenance required to the Engineering and Maintenance Supervisor. Assist on-site staff with the outsourcing of repairs or obtaining parts during normal hours' operations as required. Use Site App Pro for tasks and work orders as requested. Other tasks as required to ensure the effective operation of the business. Training * Undertake training of staff on the use and maintenance of equipment as required and directed by the Engineering and Maintenance Supervisor. Load outs & 24-hour operation * Prior to load outs and periods of operation outside normal working hours, ensuring that all equipment required is operated on site and maintained. This may include, but is not limited to, the co-ordination of hire equipment, ensuring sufficient stocks of consumables, and providing staff with breakdown procedures. Workshop Responsibility for maintenance and security of all tools required to undertake the above tasks. Ensure that the maintenance workshop area is maintained to a tidy standard that always enables ease of access for all staff. Equipment operation Provide backup cover for the operation of baling presses, trucks, excavators and forklifts etc. during staff absences and/or breaks as directed and agreed by the Engineering and Maintenance Supervisor. Health and Safety Ensure that a safe working environment is maintained for colleagues and visitors to the workplace by reporting any hazards identified, actively participating in health and safety issues, reporting accidents and near-miss incidents promptly, adhering to safety rules and participating in rehabilitation should an injury be sustained. Report to the Engineering and Maintenance Supervisor prior to leaving the site so that in the event of an onsite incident your whereabouts is known. Report any Health & Safety concerns regarding equipment to the Engineering and Maintenance Supervisor. Take an active part in the Toolbox Talks and other Health and Safety discussions. Your New Team Teamwork is essential to ensuring the smooth operation of the business. It is expected that team members will assist each other and provide cover when required. Any staffing issues have to be reported to the Engineering and Maintenance Supervisor. Key Competencies * Ability to work on own, honest, reliable. * At least three years' experience in mechanical maintenance and repairs. * Hydraulic and forklift maintenance experience. * Flexibility and versatility. * Clean criminal record. * Team player, with a positive attitude towards helping colleagues to get a job done. * Clear communication skills. * Correct licences/certification/training for any equipment or tasks that require it. * Current and clean full driving licence.
