Diesel Mechanic / Maintenance Technician – Hands-On Role with Epic Variety! We're on the hunt for a mechanically minded, can-do individual with a diesel trade (or similar background) to join our close-knit engineering and maintenance team. You’ll be keeping our plant and gear running smoothly – from trucks and excavators to forklifts and everything in between. What You’ll Be Doing: - General maintenance and repair of plant equipment and heavy machinery. - Diagnosing issues and performing repairs – from trucks and diggers to balers and forklifts. - Supporting with site setups, breakdowns, and ensuring all gear is good to go – even outside normal hours. - Working closely with the Engineering & Maintenance Supervisor to get the job done right, safely, and on time. - Backing up the crew by jumping in to operate equipment when needed. - Keeping tools tidy, the workshop in good shape, and health & safety front of mind. Who You Are: - You’re a qualified or experienced diesel mechanic (or similar heavy mechanical trade). - You’ve worked with heavy diesel gear, hydraulic systems, forklifts, etc. - You’re hands-on, physically fit, and love getting stuck in. - You’re a problem-solver who can think on your feet and work independently. - You’ve got a clean driver’s licence – and you're happy to travel for work. - You're reliable, a team player, and genuinely take pride in your work. - You are an NZ citizen or resident. We’re on the hunt for a qualified Fitter Turner / Machinist to join our experienced and friendly crew. The Role: As a Fitter Turner /Machinist at RPMS, you’ll be working with a variety of machinery and components, fitting, assembling, and machining parts to exact specifications. This is a hands-on role that requires mechanical know how, technical skill, and a sharp eye for detail. Key Responsibilities: • Working across various sites including ports / hardstands & in water vessels. • Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints. • Manufacture and fit propeller shaft / couplings and bearings to high standards. • Work with mild steel / stainless steel / bronze /aluminium & composite materials. • Operate machinery including lathes, CNC / manual milling machines, drills, and saws. • Perform accurate turning, threading, boring, and drilling. • Inspect parts to ensure quality and tolerances (within 0.01mm). • Maintain tools, equipment and a clean, safe workspace. • Work with the wider team to solve problems and meet deadlines. • Maintain high health & safety standards at all times. • Opportunities to upskill and grow within the company. • All PPE & safety training provided.
