Our pursuit of excellence empowers New Zealand exporters to compete effectively in global markets. **About the Role** **Position: Casual Stevedoring General Hands** Are you safety-conscious reliable and ready to work in a fast-paced port environment? Qube is looking for Stevedores to support the safe and efficient handling of cargo. This role is hands-on and physically demanding with a strong focus on teamwork accuracy and safety. You will be trained in a ray of different duties across the port operation. **Location:** Lyttelton Port **Status:** $41.20 per hour + holiday pay. Casual as and when required basis – you will be busy at peak times  **Your job duties would be:** * Cargo Handling: Load unload and move cargo safely and efficiently to meet customer expectations. * Bulk Cargo Handling: Operate hoppers sweep shovel and clean vessel holds and wharf areas. * Working Under the Hook: Sling cargo set up and pack down equipment and assist with general wharf operations. * Onboard Work: Sling and unsling cargo in vessel holds and assist with stowage. * Rigging and Securing: Strap lash and secure cargo using chains dunnage and framing. * Container Work: Pack and unpack containers handle product manually or with forklifts and record cargo movements. * Palletised Cargo: Stow and secure palletised goods using pallet trucks and airbags. **You will also need to:** * Have an excellent can-do attitude and a desire to learn * Must be physically fit * Be highly detail-oriented and accurate * Work well within a team setting * Be reliable and safety-conscious * Hold a Full Class 1 driver’s license (preferred) **What we can offer you:** * Great starting pay rate $41.20 per hour + holiday pay! * Friendly Team Environment. * True Health & Safety and all your PPE gear provided. * Start your career with a leader in Port Logistics. **Why QUBE?** Qube recognises the value of an inclusive and diverse work environment.
