The Hermitage hotel is looking for a Maintenance Manager to lead a multi-trade maintenance team to provide 24/7 maintenance cover for our extensive property complex. The Hermitage comprises 255 guest rooms, circa 175 staff rooms, five restaurant outlets, plus the surrounding buildings, and grounds. Reporting to our onsite Project Manager, this is a varied role, comprising team leadership, task management, work prioritization, online administration, and hands on trade/site work. Based in the unique landscape of Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, the ideal candidate will be guest focused, experienced in managing trades, tech savvy, and looking to continually improve both process and service. What you will be doing * Leading the team to deliver a 24/7 service, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and rostering. * Triage jobs raised and planned maintenance tasks across our hotel rooms, motels, lodge and staff accommodation. * Ensure all electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems are maintained and used as outlined in department SOPs. * Ensure a high standard of health, safety and hygiene is maintained. * Liaising with key stakeholders, including the Department of Conservation, Contractors, and Suppliers. What you will bring to the role * Experience in managing trades and maintenance work (preventative and reactive) * Trade experience as a plumber, builder, electrician, engineer, or site manager. * Prior experience in property maintenance, ideally commercial. * Hold a full clean NZ Driver's license or international equivalent * Flexible, adaptable, and able to prioritize. * Confidence in using online technology for rostering, document management, and more.
