About the Role Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will lead the on-site delivery of Roofing Craftsmen projects across the Waikato Region. Your key responsibility will be to work with the Operations and Senior Management teams to ensure our project portfolio is delivered on time, to spec, and above expectations. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: *Lead the preparation of job sites and oversee daily operations *Interpret specifications, plans, and drawings, ensuring methods and materials meet quality standards *Operate tools and equipment to complete roofing and carpentry tasks *Identify defects and implement practical solutions *Coordinate and organise delivery of materials, plant, and equipment *Communicate clearly with the Operations Manager and Directors on progress and challenges *Lead toolbox meetings and ensure strong H&S compliance *Monitor team performance, delegate tasks effectively, and maintain high productivity *Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer standards, NZ Code of Practice, and Roofing Craftsmen’s standards *Build and maintain professional relationships with team members, clients, and suppliers *Provide leadership through planning, problem-solving, and clear communication *What We’re Looking For -Proven experience in architectural roofing or cladding, with a deep knowledge of metal systems (Eurotray, Spanlok, Standing Seam, Espan, etc.) -Previous Leading Hand, Foreman, or supervisory experience -Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications -A proactive leader with excellent organisational and communication skills -High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship -Current Site Safe / Working at Heights certifications (or willingness to obtain) -Full NZ driver’s licence Why You'll Love Working at Roofing Craftsmen Ltd... This is an opportunity to step into a senior site leadership role and take ownership of complex structures work on bridges, steel structures, and large-scale concreting projects. The Role * Supervise and coordinate structures works across multiple fronts, including subcontractors. * Lead teams on bridges, concrete works, steel structures, shuttering, and major projects. * Develop and implement work plans, JSEA's, and ensure all activities meet HSE requirements. * Operate with confidence in decision-making, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity on site. * Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to maintain progress and standards. * Plan, sequence, and oversee multiple complex work activities simultaneously. About You * 14+ years' experience in a commercial construction environment, with proven capability in structures. * Background in concreting, bridges, major projects, steel structures, and shuttering. * Strong leadership skills - able to motivate, coach, and develop team members. * High-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage at all levels. * Competency operating heavy machinery, including excavators, trucks, and loaders. * Ability to interpret financial performance reports and work confidently with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. * Proven experience leading subcontractors and delivering on safety, quality, and deadlines.
