6-8 weeks work located in West Auckland. We’re looking for an experienced Steel Rigger to join our team on a major new commercial project in Auckland. This is a great opportunity to be part of a high-profile structural build, working with a skilled crew in a safe and supportive environment. What you’ll be doing: - Rigging, dogging, and guiding heavy steel sections into place. - Assisting crane operators with safe lifts and placements. - Setting up and dismantling rigging gear and lifting equipment. - Working alongside steel erectors and site managers to deliver the project on time and to spec. - Following strict site safety protocols. What we’re looking for: - Proven experience as a Rigger in structural/commercial builds. - Current Rigging/Dogman ticket. - Site Safe passport. - Working at Heights and EWP ticket. - Physically fit and confident working at heights. - A strong safety mindset and good communication skills. You will be responsible for fabrication, assembly and welding of structural steel components in a safe and efficient manner. This position involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, operating fabrication equipment, carrying out high-quality welding, and ensuring all work meets quality, safety and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities: * Fabricate, assemble and prepare structural steel members to drawings and specifications. * Perform welding operations in accordance with AS/NZS 1554:2014 parts 1 - 6 * Apply welding processes such as: - GMAW - FCAW - MMAW * Use cutting, drilling, grinding tools and plant in line with safety and quality requirements. * Handle and store materials according to AS/NZS 5131:2016 and site-specific quality control procedures. * Follow health and safety, and environmental procedures under the health and safety at work act 2015.
