Greater Wellington Regional Council works with communities to manage flood risk from the region's rivers and streams. We develop floodplain management plans, provide a free advice and consultation service, maintain and build flood protection works, work with the community to improve the environment and recreational opportunities, and provide flood warnings. The role would suit students at the end of their second, third, or final years who are seeking professional work experience to fulfil their degree requirements. Previous summer students have worked on technical analyses, asset management, river engineering, field work, data collection, and community engagement.
