We're looking for two Interns/Student Engineers to join our passionate Knowledge Water team. These roles are fixed term, full-time (November to February) based in our central Wellington office, with opportunities to work across the greater Wellington region. We understand the development needs of engineering students and will provide the experience needed to meet your objectives. As Student Engineers you will be exposed to an interesting mix of work across the region, tailored to your specific interests. **About the role:** New Zealand's rivers are an extremely valuable environmental habitat, recreational playground, and culturally significant part of our communities. Greater Wellington Regional Council works with communities to manage flood risk from the region's rivers and streams. We develop floodplain management plans, provide a free advice and consultation service, maintain and build flood protection works, work with the community to improve the environment and recreational opportunities, and provide flood warnings. The role would suit students at the end of their second, third, or final years who are seeking professional work experience to fulfil their degree requirements. Previous summer students have worked on technical analyses, asset management, river engineering, field work, data collection, and community engagement.
